I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of Your Lordship's Despatches Nos. 103 and 204 of the
17th. March and 29th. April regarding the retirement of Mr.
A. Pattison of the Hongkong Police Force.
2.
In view of the circumstances it would
seem to be equitable to apply to Mr. Pattison's case the
ordinary rules regarding retirement which is due to injuries
received while in discharge of duty. The Executive Council
recommend the addition of fifteen-sixtieths to the pension,
which is allowed under the rules when a man's capacity is
materially impaired; and Mr. Pattison's pension will according-
-ly be at the rate of £72 10 0, as shown in the attached
pension form.

If in view of the report of the Salaries
Commission the pay of the Police is increased, I would recommend that Mr. Pattison's pension should be recalculated upon the basis of the new rate of pay of his post.
I have the honour to be, My Lord,
Your Lordship's most obedient,
humble servant,
Claud Tevem
Officer Administering the Government.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
